IMAM CHARITY FOUNDATION HOLDS SUCCESSFUL HALF-YEAR REVIEW MEETING WITH WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT(WEE) BENEFICIARIES

On Sunday, June 30, 2024, Imam Charity Foundation convened a half-year review meeting with 220 women entrepreneurs, beneficiaries of its Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) program, at its permanent site in Jalingo. The event aimed to assess progress, address challenges, and provide guidance, fostering a sense of community and encouragement among the women.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome address by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and Executive Director, Malam Aliyu Adamu Imam. He shared the inspiring story of how the foundation was conceived and its journey to becoming a reality. He emphasized the foundation’s commitment to empowering women and promoting economic growth in the state.

The Publicity Secretary of the foundation then provided a brief recap of the foundation’s activities, highlighting its accomplishments and impact since its inception. This update helped beneficiaries and attendees understand the foundation’s progress and goals.

Architect Hajiya Hadiza BELLO Yero and Hajiya Mariya Ibrahim Bello delivered insightful talks on financial discipline, business planning, and effective management, emphasizing the importance of maintaining financial discipline, prioritizing savings, and investing in their businesses.

The beneficiaries of the Women Economic Empowerment program shared remarkable testimonies of their progress. They reported significant savings, with some accumulating up to N50,000 in the foundation’s Multipurpose Cooperative account, starting from the initial N20,000 startup capital. Moreover, some beneficiaries have successfully grown their businesses to a capital of over N200,000, a remarkable increase from the initial N20,000. They also shared stories of increased income, improved business operations, and expanded customer bases. While they faced challenges like limited access to markets among others, the foundation’s support and guidance have helped them navigate these obstacles and achieve notable success.

Imam Charity Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women and promoting economic growth in the region, marking an essential milestone in the beneficiaries’ journey towards financial stability and independence. The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and determination among the beneficiaries, equipped to overcome obstacles and achieve their business goals.
